Robbie Rowlands
If This Light Can Hold
inkjet print on fine art paper
18 × 25 inches

if this light can hold (2015) is an inkjet print of the site-responsive installation by Melbourne-based artist Robbie Rowlands. Rowlands created the piece for BMoCA’s Spring 2016 exhibition Substrate, an exhibition that invited artists to make work using the floor of the museum. If you look down at the floor near this piece you will see the marks left by Rowlands’ installation.  In 2016 BMoCA’s floors will be redone, this photograph will be the lasting memory for the extraordinary installation.

Museum will resume normal hours April 1.

BMoCA is currently closed for renovation. The museum will re-open with the spring exhibition Martha Russo: coalescere, on view March 31-June 12. The exhibition opening reception will be Thursday, March 31 with 5:30pm member reception and free public reception from 6:30-9pm.
