Spring 2017 Opening Reception

Thursday January 26 – 5:30-9:00pm

Join us to celebrate the opening of spring 2017 exhibitions Mathias Kessler: Artifacts & Other Errors of Perception and Dylan Gebbia Richards: Eclipse.

German artist Mathias Kessler unearths the power of image and artifact as preservations of truth and definers of history through a series of re-imagined fossils excavated from art history, scientific inquiry, and travel. Mapping out intersections of Boulder’s natural and cultural ecosystems, Kessler invites us to explore and participate in a site-specific reflection of our local landscape.

The material build-up of wax and pigment in Dylan Gebbia-Richard’s installation and sculptures Eclipse our senses, engulfing us in a kaleidoscope of color and texture. Artificially-born and organically rendered, the work oscillates between the artist’s controlled technique and a process of unpredictability.
