DESIGNxBOULDER Community Conversations: Homelessness

Thursday September 8 – 6:30-8:00pm

Join us for a series of three community conversations addressing important issues in Boulder and our world. Experts and visionaries in their fields will speak about each topic and then open the floor for questions. Bring a picnic and blanket.

Speakers for Community Conversations: Homelessness

Ann H., an East Boulder County resident and homeowner who survived a 2008 recession layoff, and became part of the solution to the problem of resources and homelessness.

Jay Young, a formerly homeless person now on the board of Bridge House, which offers a Ready to Work program providing a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless individuals

Darren O’Connor, an activist with Boulder Rights Watch and Boulder Coalition and Alliance on Race who has worked on The Right to Rest Act, a homeless bill of rights, in Colorado.

Audrey Johnson, staff representative from Emergency Family Assistance Association. EFAA provides immediate assistance to help families stay in their homes, as well as short-term and transitional housing for homeless families in Boulder and Broomfield Counties.

Sammy and Gage from the Boulder youth homeless community who are clients of Attention Homes. Attention Homes is a safe resource for youth in crisis providing shelter, structure, and access to crucial services so that homeless and displaced youth can become stable, independent members of our community and achieve their potential.

Co-presented with EcoArts Connections.
