The Politics of Immigrant Inclusion

Wednesday April 3, 2019 – 6:00-7:30pm

Dive into the subject matter of with an interactive conversation led by Dr. Celeste Montoya, Associate Professor of Women and Gender Studies and Director of the Miramontes Arts & Sciences Program at the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Montoya will discuss the impactful and often unseen roles that migrant workers play in day to day life, as well as how immigration policy and discourse have evolved over time and the impact this has had on individuals as well as the country as a whole.

About Dr. Celeste Montoya:
Dr. Montoya received her PhD in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis and has published on such topics as gender violence, immigrant rights, voting rights, and various forms of political inclusion and behavior. She is author of From Global to Grassroots: The European Union, Transnational Advocacy, and Combating Violence against Women (Oxford University Press 2013) and co-editor of Gendered Mobilizations and Intersectional Challenges (forthcoming ECPR Press).
