BMoCA's response to COVID-19

May 18 - June 1, 2020

Update as of 5/18/20:
Dear BMoCA community,

I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and well. As we all adapt to this unprecedented time, I want to share with you how BMoCA is adapting and continuing to support our community by fostering creativity.

While the museum is closed, we are exploring new ways to connect you with artists and their work. We have shifted our traditional programs to online formats, including:

  • Virtual Studio Tours: Artists Lindee Zimmer, Alejandra Abad, and Caleb Hahne, among others, have invited our community into their studios and shared their work and processes. Don’t miss these behind-the-scenes programs on Instagram every Tuesday and Thursday at 12pm MT.
  • #VirtualBMoCA: Members of the BMoCA community have been sharing work they have collected or created using this hashtag on Instagram. Join the conversation!
  • #ArtInsideOut: Have you experienced art on your social distanced walk in your neighborhood? Share it on Instagram with this hashtag to join a collection of artwork that we can engage with from a distance.
  • Online artist talks: One of BMoCA’s most popular programs is now virtual. In April, Exhibiting Artists Stacey Steers and Steven Frost shared insights about their work and exhibitions.

We have extended our spectacular current exhibitions by and so that you can experience them again or for the first time when we reopen. Fortunately, we do not need to cancel any upcoming exhibitions. We are hard at work on this fall’s and as well as on programming for BMoCA’s additional exhibition platforms.

As we present online content, prepare for reopening, and work on upcoming exhibitions, we need your support more than ever. Please support BMoCA by joining our virtual programs and during this time. Your participation and contributions ensure that BMoCA can continue engaging people of all ages with contemporary art.

We are working diligently to implement the necessary protocols and precautions to provide a safe space for our visitors and staff when we reopen. We will keep you informed as we work toward a reopening date, and we look forward to the day when we can come together again to celebrate life and artistic creativity.

As public health restrictions begin to ease, BMoCA is considering its plans to reopen to the public. We would love to hear your feedback, and invite you to take a 3-minute survey by clicking here.

Stay well, and thank you for being part of the BMoCA community!
