We will start our trip with a walking tour, and our guide will provide an overview of the history of Marrakech. In the evening, the 1:54 Art Fair kicks off.

1:54 Contemporary Art Fair at La Mamounia
Founded by Touria El Glaoui in 2013, 1:54 is the leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. It holds annual editions in London and New York, and added Marrakech in 2018. Drawing reference to the fifty-four countries that constitute the African continent, 1:54 is a sustainable and dynamic platform that is engaged in contemporary dialogue and exchange.

Souk District and le Jardin Secret
Marrakech boasts some of the oldest, largest, and most diverse open-air markets, selling all imaginable items, from tires to trinkets. We will start with a guide to get our bearings, then you will be let loose to wander and treasure hunt through passages and walkways to discover some innovative takes on traditional artisanal goods.
Built from the ruins of a magnificent 19th-century palace, le Jardin Secret hosts manicured grounds of exotic flora, fruit trees, pavilions, pools and fountains – a beautiful respite in the busy Old Town.

Rue Yougoslavie, MACMA, Gallery Tours
Tour Rue Yougoslavie, the city’s creative corridor, and home of the Musee d’Art et de Culture de Marrakech. Moroccan artifacts and European Orientalism comprise the permanent collection, including Delacroix prints, a Dufy watercolor and Fez ceramics that once belonged to Yves Saint Laurent.
Wednesday, February 27
Yves Saint Laurent Museum and Majorelle Garden
Created by French Orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle starting in 1923, the site features a Cubist villa designed by French architect Paul Sinoir in the 1930s. In the 1980s, fashion designers Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge purchased and restored it. Today, the garden and villa complex is open to the public and houses the Islamic Art Museum of Marrakech, the Berber Museum, and the Musee Yves Saint Laurent.

Wrap up and Depart
Final breakfast at the hotel, followed by free time until departure for the airport.
