Tinker @ BMoCA: Mermaid Ice Cream Shop
June 12 - 15
Join us for a week full of playful adventure as we transform into merpeople with gorgeous tails, long braided hair pieces, and then open up our own Mermaid Ice Cream Shop! We’ll have a blast transforming ourselves and making our own faux ice cream cones, a shop display, and much more. The best part?! Our week will culminate in a real ice cream party during snack on Thursday!*
In our third summer of partnership with BMoCA, we can tell you, these camps are amazing! We spend our days in the stunning upstairs studio above the museum, and get to make art in community while being inspired by our surroundings and the contemporary artists’ work on display. Each week includes a museum tour, and each day includes snack and break time outdoors on the large grassy lawns in front of the museum. Less than 6-to-1 student-teacher ratio, the most inspiring space, exposure to contemporary art while making amazing work of our own — it doesn’t get much better!
ICE CREAM: *We will serve one scoop of ice cream to campers on Thursday after snack time. If your student has a dairy allergy or another allergy preventing them from eating ice cream, we will have sorbet available as an alternative. Please be sure to add any dairy/ice cream allergies to their medical info during registration. By registering for this camp, you agree to allow Tinker staff to serve your child a scoop of ice cream (or sorbet if we’re made aware of a dairy allergy). Alternatively, you may provide your child with a different treat if desired, but Tinker staff must be made aware.
4-DAY CAMP: This 4-day camp runs Monday – Thursday, and is held at Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA).
ART SHOW: Art shows are back in full swing! We invite parents, friends, and family to join us 15 minutes before pick up on Thursday for a celebration of our work from the week! 11:45am (morning camps) or 3:45pm (afternoon camps)]
BMoCA TOUR: During our camp week, we will enjoy a tour of the museum and take inspiration from our surroundings and the contemporary artists’ work on display.
