Summer art camps created by artists that encourage personal expression, fine art techniques, and material exploration in a museum setting for youth ages 5-12. Weeklong full and half-day workshops available.
FOR 5-8 YEAR OLDS
July 27-31: INSTALLATION
Campers will create their own sand mandala, much like those made by Tibetan monks, as part of a “quilt” installation of mandalas on the floor of the workshop. We will explore topics of meditation and intention, symmetry, and mineral pigments. At the end of the week, we will have a ceremony to wipe away our mandalas, collecting some to distribute as blessings for each child and dispersing the rest in Boulder Creek, which will carry our blessings around the world. Power in Numbers
Math and biology meet art in this exploration of ant colonies and geometry. Campers will work on their planning and collaboration skills to create a giant ant colony. They will also learn how math intersects with art, and how great things are possible when you work together! To register, click here.
