Eileen Roscina: Secret Sky Seeds
October 19 – December 31, 2022
Artist Eileen Roscina works with the Brighton community to contemplate the landscape of the area through hanging sky seed sculptures. Like the dandelion seed, this collection of sculptures will float in the atrium of Anythink Brighton and represent the growth and renewal of life. Each sculpture will be created by community members and contain secret messages about what seeds people hope to sow for their futures in this collective garden of hope.
About the artist
Eileen Roscina is an artist, experimental filmmaker and naturalist. Through biomimicry and the study of biophilia, her work examines humans’ spiritual and social (dis)connection with nature and seeks to raise questions about realizing a radically different metaphoric mapping of time, space and our place in the world.
About the project
The Secret Sky Seeds exhibition and associated workshops are part of BMoCA at Anythink Fall Artist Showcase, a partnership between BMoCA and Anythink. Through this initiative, BMoCA presents free, museum-quality exhibitions by regional artists at Anythink library branches and complementary programs at the libraries and neighboring schools. BMoCA at Anythink expands accessible educational and cultural opportunities for Adams County residents of all ages and backgrounds.
The BMoCA and Anythink Libraries collaboration is funded in part by the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District and the Kemper Family Foundations, UMB Bank, n.a., Trustee.
