Kristen Imig: A 5 Year Survey
April 1 – June 11, 2005 @ BMoCA

In this body of work created over the span of five years, Kristen Imig bridges the gap between documentary and fine art photography. The exhibition presents black and white silver gelatin prints taken in New York, Paris, India, and Africa. The works reflect cultural politics of place and provide revelatory insights into human character.

Imig grew up in Boulder, studied in New York and Paris, and now resides in Seattle. A recent first prize in National Geographic Traveler took her to Southern Africa. She has exhibited in Colorado, Paris and at the Frye Museum in Seattle. Her works have been featured in numerous films including Spiderman, Crazy Beautiful, and in the newly released A Lot Like Love.
