Artist Eileen Roscina worked with the Commerce City community to explore the intersection between industry and nature through a mural composed of organic and natural materials that form the industrial landscape of Commerce City. This mural installed at Anythink Commerce City celebrated growth, change and the vital history that seeds hold in shaping terrain. Community members contributed to the mural by pressing flowers and contemplating what seeds can we plant for the future?

About the Artist
Eileen Roscina is an artist, experimental filmmaker and naturalist currently living in Denver, Colorado. She earned a BFA from Emerson College in Boston, MA, is an MFA candidate at University of Colorado, Boulder and trained at the School of Botanical Art and Illustration in Denver. Through biomimicry and the study of biophilia, her work examines human’s spiritual and social (dis)connection with nature, and seeks to raise questions about realizing a radically different metaphoric mapping of time, space and our place in the world.
