This second session of the 2-part workshop series will bring the cyanotype fabric pieces to life! Attendees will work with artist Eileen Roscina to embellish the hanging sky seed sculptures using seeds, mirrors, ribbons, pom poms, and pressed flowers. The playful sculptures will be finished when each participant adds their secret message of what they hope to grow for their future.
The sky seed sculptures will be part of the artist’s upcoming exhibition at the Anythink Brighton branch, entitled Secret Sky Seeds.
About the artist
Eileen Roscina is an artist, experimental filmmaker and naturalist. Through biomimicry and the study of biophilia, her work examines humans’ spiritual and social (dis)connection with nature and seeks to raise questions about realizing a radically different metaphoric mapping of time, space and our place in the world.
About the project
The Secret Sky Seeds exhibition and associated workshops are part of BMoCA at Anythink Fall Artist Showcase, a partnership between BMoCA and Anythink. Through this initiative, BMoCA presents free, museum-quality exhibitions by regional artists at Anythink library branches and complementary programs at the libraries and neighboring schools. BMoCA at Anythink expands accessible educational and cultural opportunities for Adams County residents of all ages and backgrounds.
This series is possible thanks to generous support from the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District and the Kemper Family Foundations.
